Gujarat wins UN prize in “transparency, accountability & responsiveness”
“Michelle બેન Obama એ કર્યો રંગ દે બસંતી ના ગીત ઉપર ડાન્સ.“,”ફરાહ ખાને કેટરીના ને બદલે બેબો ને કેમ લીધી?“, વિગેરે … બધી જ જાત ના ચટાકેદાર NEWS ટીવી ચેનાલો ઉપર અને છાપાઓ માં જોવા મળે છે. પણ ગુજરાતીઓ અને ભારતીઓ જેમાં ગર્વ લઇ શકે તેવા મહત્વ ના NEWS નું પ્રસારણ કોણ જાણે કેમ નથી થતું ?! પણ હાલ માં જ United Nations has awarded Gujarat 2nd prize in “improving transparency, accountability & responsiveness”. According to sources, even in 2009 the Government of Gujarat won UN awards for drinking water supply programme and user level water quality.

You are absolutely correct – Responsibility in journalism is generally lacking. They mostly report/sensationalize an overly discussed (dead-horse) or talk about trivial matters, mostly a band-wagon approach (IF one news channel or newspaper reports, it must be important; how we can be behind?). Thank you for sharing this positive news, especially now and about Gujarat, when state administration is always being criticized in these areas (transparency, accountability & responsiveness) by national press of India and of course all other political parties.
